Meet Our Guests and Your Host

Erin Marlow ✩ Creator of It’s a Fandom Thing and Your Host
Erin had been dreaming of starting a podcast for years and went through several ideas before landing on It’s a Fandom Thing. Erin’s goal in creating the podcast was to create a safe space where women and female-identifying individuals could find a safe place to freely express their love and critique the pop culture and fandoms they love. Since starting the podcast in 2019, Erin’s goals have extended beyond just her initial ones. She now hopes that It’s a Fandom Thing can be a safe space for all of those who feel like outsiders in the fandom and pop culture world.

Ashleigh ✩ W!ZARD RADIO
Ashleigh Stiles is the host of Ashleigh Stiles Live on Wizard Radio, a current-affairs and world news programme covering a wide range of topics from around the globe. A connoisseur of pop culture, she also enjoys camping and the outdoors, writing fiction, TTRPGs, Larp, and is ride-or-die for the Seattle Mariners in a country that doesn’t follow baseball. You can find Ashleih’s profile on WIZARD Radio here: https://www.wizardradio.com/presenters/matthew-stiles

Nicole ✩ Soundtrack Your Life
By day, Nicole is an LA-based writer and creative director. By the other part of the day, she’s one half of the indie music and pop culture podcast Soundtrack Your Life. Message her at OhHeyNicole.com for creative projects, passionate opinions on cacio e pepe and the best Walton Goggins vocal tics to make your entire personality.

Meg ✩ Bed Wed or Behead
Meg is a mom and wife who is still looking for a job as a professional binge watcher. She is the co-host of the Bed Wed, Behead podcast and loves nothing more than shouting into the void about the shows, movies, books, and characters that she loves, hates, and loves to hate. She’s a forever shipper, and her favorite thing these days has been introducing her kids to her favorite shows.

Carla ✩ Bed Wed or Behead
Carla Temis is the co-host of Bed Wed or Behead Podcast and a frequent panelist on It’s A Fandom Thing Podcast. As a fan of good stories, she has earned a degree in Binge Watching from Netflix University and a degree in Advanced Audiobooking from Libby College. While this comes second to her devotion to her family and friends, it barely surpasses her love of great food and, occasionally, mediocre food.

Moth ✩ It’s a Dean Thing
Moth is a semi-regular guest of the It’s a Fandom Thing podcast. They are also part of the It’s a Dean Thing podcast that they co-host with Paula and Erin. When they are not recording, they like kicking back in their crypt and going on fun side quests. Documentation of said quests can be found on Instagram at @the_crafting_cryptid

Paula ✩ It’s a Dean Thing
Paula is one of the co-hosts of It’s a Dean Thing podcast and a panelist for It’s a Fandom Thing podcast. She enjoys video, tabletop RPG, and board gaming; reading the latest sci-fi novels and all things Star Wars and Supernatural. She can be found online @itsmysandbox on most social media platforms and on the It’s a Fandom Thing discord server.

Jenn ✩ My Streaming Bubble
Hi, I’m Jenn and I’m the host of the podcast, My Streaming Bubble, where I talk about the shows I loooove with the people I tolerate. I also co-host the podcast Twin It to Win It, where Erin, from It’s a Fandom Thing, and I test our twinningness by guessing how we feel about different horror movies. But when I’m not watching TV or talking with people who watch TV, I do the mom thing for 2 boys, the wife thing for The Hubby, and the librarian thing for the library. I also enjoy baking, listening to audiobooks, and providing the lap for our cat Sergeant Snuggles’ naps (he may be the family pet, but he’s my cat). Want to know more? Then be sure to download an episode or 6 of each, and Keep Streaming!

Bex ✩ Big Rep Podcast
Ever judge a person, and it turns out you didn’t have the whole story? Ever learn there was a lot more to that story than you first realized? Big Reputations is a podcast where Kimberly and Rebecca discuss the reputations of women that we as society have judged too harshly. They take the time to separate the little lies from the Big Reputations.

Kim ✩ Big Rep Podcast
Ever judge a person and it turns out you didn’t have the whole story? Ever learn there was a lot more to that story than you first realized? Big Reputations is a podcast where Kimberly and Rebecca discuss the reputations of women that we as society have judged too harshly. They take the time to separate the little lies from the Big Reputations.

Tanya ✩ Author
Tanya Cook (she/they) is a sociology professor at the Community College of Aurora in Colorado. Cook researches fan activism and has been quoted in international press regarding cancel culture. Their current book, co-authored with Kaela Joseph, is Fandom Acts of Kindness: a Heroic Guide to Activism, Advocacy, and Doing Chaotic Good. When they’re not working, you can probably find them at Comic-Con.

Tiff ✩ It’s a Fandom Thing Panelist
I get my obsession from sci-fi honestly: my dad is a huge Trekkie and passed it down to me. From a young age, my desire to read any and everything, to absorb all of the things, made me appreciate writing, theater, film, and television. Fandom wasn’t really a part of my personal zeitgeist until The Mindy Project came along. Chatting it up on the daily with my fellow Mindians made me know there were others who held the same love of pop culture.

Erin’s podcast baby, let me dork out about my passion for all things Lord of the Rings. It’s also shared some of the best topical discussions with the brightest minds out there. Being a frequent panelist brings me so much joy and allows me to share that joy with others.

So this is me. A Trekkie, a LOTR obsessive, a book nerd, and a musical jammer. Take me as I am, or don’t take me at all. 😏

Erin A. ✩ It’s a Fandom Thing
Erin works behind the scenes at the pod, and you can sometimes hear her as a panelist on episodes. Her top fandoms are Doctor Who, Supernatural, Wynonna Earp, Star Wars, and just about anything sci-fi. Most evening,s she can be found in her craft studio working on sewing or embroidery. She’s an aspiring textile artist, lazy cosplayer, and convention nerd.
